When you buy skin care products you spend both time and money to make yourself look better. Are you applying your beauty products to the best possible surface to get that smooth look you want? Water does wonders because it is the best moisturizer there is. The easiest skin care and beauty tip is all wet! Apply the water inside and out.
A smooth surface on your face comes only from plump, moist cells. Cosmetic moisturizers help but they can’t do it all by themselves. Your skin needs water. In fact, skin tissues need lots of water. So does the rest of you, of course. The experts continue to recommend daily amounts up to that tiresome eight glasses a day that everybody’s been harping on since you were in kindergarten. The experts are not all in agreement about the number of glasses needed. Some think you should work out the amount that gives you the results you want. This does not give you carte blanche to go slurping down energy drinks and endless cups of coffee. The whole point of drinking water is to add liquid. Caffeine, especially in large quantities, is known to do the exact opposite – to cause water loss, also known as dehydration.
Sugar is another danger to your good looks, so be moderate in your consumption of fruit juices. A glass of orange juice probably contains the juice of five or six oranges and all their natural sugars. Try eating the orange instead of drinking orange juice. You see, too much sugar in any form will undermine your body’s health and show up on your face as blemishes.
What is the use of all this water? Here is a reason that will directly affect your appearance because it affects your skin. The layers of cells that make up skin tissue must be flexible enough to perform their many life-giving functions. Water is necessary to maintain that flexibility. (When too many skin cells dry out, they will expire. So will you.) Suppleness and elasticity require water.
Water is, of course, simply H2O and that’s what you need. The brand name bottled water may well have come direct from some municipal water supply, just like the stuff that comes out of your kitchen faucet. The really important point is to be sure you drink that water. Here’s a hint from scientific research: Best time to drink water is within a hour before eating. This hydrates tissues in the stomach lining to protect against the strong acids needed for digestion.
Just don’t try to drink all your water at once. Too much of anything – no matter how beneficial – can hurt you. Spread your consumption throughout the day and keep in mind that internal dehydration starts long before you notice it. By the time you realize you are getting thirsty, the moisture in your body’s cells may already be seriously depleted. When this happens, your complexion suffers.
You are what you drink. For the health of your entire system, you need water. For the beauty of your facial skin, you need plenty of water.
